Police were looking for Dr. Richard Kaminsky on traffic warrants. They found him sleeping in his car at an Asheboro, N.C., parking lot on a chilly December night last year.
The former O’Fallon doctor wasn’t sleeping alone. He had a gun.
“When the officers placed the defendant under arrest, the 9 mm handgun … fell from his person (specifically, from under a blanket with which he was covered),” stated an order signed by U.S. District Judge Patrick Auld. “It was loaded with a round chambered.”
