Transitional housing for homeless veterans could be on the way to Winston-Salem.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1134 wants to sell its former location in northeastern Winston-Salem to the N.C. Housing Foundation Inc. to be used for the project.

“This is a place where homeless veterans can live 24/7,” said Diane Evans, the foundation’s director of development. “They can stay there for up to two years.”
