RALEIGH — Gov. Bev Perdue says the state should shed more than 10,000 positions by reducing and combining state programs as part of the $19.9 billion budget she sent to lawmakers this morning.
Perdue estimates that 3,000 of the 10,000 positions she wants to cut across state government are currently filled.
