Ashe County, already potentially responsible for some portion of New River Behavioral Healthcare’s possible $3,000,000 loss, learned this morning it may be on the hook for even more.
David R. Swann, Area Director and CEO of Crossroads LME, an Elkin based mental health management entity, informed Interim Ashe County Manager Pat Mitchell, along with the county managers of Alleghany, Avery, Watauga, and Wilkes Counties, in an email this morning, that money the organization advanced to NRBH in September must be paid back if the five counties dissolve NRBH.
