CHARLOTTE — Willie Monteith, the man at the center of one of North Carolina’s most far-reaching class-action lawsuits, apparently won’t have to worry about being homeless anymore.
Monteith, who lacks permanent housing, has won a reversal of an earlier Social Security Administration decision to deny him disability benefits.
He received his first check last week and hopes eventually to move into his own place.
