Lawsuit alleges student’s arm broken by therapeutic hold – Fayetteville Observer

The mother of a child whose arm was broken at Walker Spivey School has sued the Cumberland County Board of Education.

The suit alleges that a teacher, Dawn Owens, broke the child’s arm while putting the girl in a therapeutic hold in February 2008. The hold was placed improperly, according to the lawsuit, resulted in arm breaking.
