Editorial: City right to help with repairs to house damaged in police standoff | Winston-Salem Journal

The city of Winston-Salem deserves praise for taking the high road by paying for damages incurred in a May police standoff on Reynolds Park Road house that left its resident, a 64-year-old man with a history of mental illness, dead and his house heavily damaged. The city is also taking action to head off similar tragedies in the future.
