Doctor was badly beaten at mental hospital – Raleigh News & Observer

RALEIGH — RALEIGH — On June 8, a female psychiatrist at a state mental hospital in Goldsboro was beaten so badly by a male patient she required treatment at a nearby emergency room.

At the time of the attack, the Cherry Hospital doctor was not wearing one of the facility’s remote emergency transmitters, which allow the wearer to press a button to activate an alarm that indicates the staff member needs help.
