UNDATED – A top official at East Carolina Behavioral Health said this week the agency can absorb proposed cuts in state mental funding this coming year, but would be hard-pressed to deal with reduced funding for any longer than that.

Leza Wainwright, chief operating officer of East Carolina Behavioral Health, said the one-time reduction of $45 million in mental health funding statewide that is part of the House budget would mean about a $2.2 million reduction for ECBH
