MORGANTON — Demolition of five former ward buildings on Broughton Hospital’s campus is under way to make room for a 382-bed, 430,000-square-foot hospital.
The $154.8-million hospital is needed because current buildings are aging and inefficient, spokesman Mark Van Sciver of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has said in the past.
