Board says it didn’t break law – News – Clayton News Star

SMITHFIELD — The chairman of the Johnston County Board of Commissioners and the county attorney say commissioners did not violate the state’s open-meetings law when a majority of the board attended a local hospital meeting.

Six of the seven commissioners attended a Johnston Health meeting on July 27, when hospital leaders talked about hiring a private company to run the mental-health unit in Smithfield.
