Workers Rally to Keep Dorothea Dix Hospital Open — North Carolina Public Radio WUNC

Rose Hoban: Officials from the Department of Health and Human services reported on the plan to close Dix at a legislative hearing yesterday. They say the move will save millions, will result in a few more beds and that workers won’t lose their jobs.   But Dix employees rallying outside on Jones Street disagreed. Nursing supervisor Beverly Moriarty say she’s been offered a job at Central Regional Hospital in Butner. But she’s not happy about it.
