The Death of the Mental Health Association — North Carolina Public Radio WUNC

Eric Hodge: This summer, one of the state’s largest providers of mental health services collapsed and went out of business. The Mental Health Association of North Carolina was a 25-million dollar a year organization, providing services for people with mental health problems and acting as a statewide advocate. Now, the organization has all but disappeared. MHA’s former director was fingered as the cause of the demise. But people familiar with the dysfunction of North Carolina’s mental health system say it could have happened to anyone.  Rose Hoban reports.
