hile most of the recent news about mental health services in the Albemarle has focused on cutbacks and low availability, it turns out a handful of services are available but getting very little use.

Cindy Ehlers, East Carolina Behavioral Health’s assistant area director for clinical services, would like that to change.

East Carolina Behavioral Health has been managing mental health and related services in the 10 Albemarle Mental Health Center counties since July 1 on behalf of the state Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services.
