Local leaders must abandon ‘in’ crowd – the inept, incompetent

Based on the latest financial fiasco pointed out in Sunday’s Observer, I am convinced our city and county upper management teams have joined the “in” crowd: inept, incompetent, incorrigible and inexcusable! As stewards of our tax dollars, they are failing us miserably. Where is the oversight and accountability? Have they taken a page from the playbook of Bell, Calif.? Mecklenburg residents deserve better.

Observer, mental health stories didn’t warrant the front page

I am more than a little put off by your recent reporting about a mental health provider’s use of funds. Maybe it was worth the Local Briefs. But front page stories that resulted in the county mental health director being put on administrative leave?
