More adults in Wake need guardians – Raleigh News & Observer

RALEIGH — The number of Wake County adults entering guardianship is rising by 37 percent over a two-year period, officials project, driven by increasing longevity and young adults with mental illness.

And even during tight budget times, human services officials are adding extra specialists to ensure good care for people who can’t look after themselves.
