On April 14, 2004, a mentally ill, needing-medication, resource-handicapped Abdullah El-Amin Shareef’s actions resulted in the tragic loss of a life and the permanent alteration of many other lives in the Cumberland, Harnett, and Hoke communities.
We must seek understanding, along with truth and justice. We must first look at the cause of this tragedy, not only the results of it.
