State readies to do more damage
While understanding the need for journalists to use such qualifying terms as “may” when writing on broad issues such as mental health, I still must take exception to one sentence in the Observer’s Sept. 8 editorial: “Budgeting – State considers more cuts; careful, please.” You write: “Others, such as … mental-health services, already may be incapable of meeting the population’s needs.”

Let me assure you services are incapable of meeting needs, even as our state’s legislators, legislative leaders and governor are apparently poised to show that North Carolina is capable of even greater inhumanity.
