The News and Observer’s story about Rep. Verla Insko (D-Orange) being “booted” from a tour of Dix Hospital last Thursday made the Internet rounds via email on Monday and Tuesday. The story raised the question, “What do DHHS and the leaders at Dix Hospital in Raleigh have to hide?”
The N&O outlined concerns about the incident well in an editorial today.
Several mental health advocates across the state were interviewed yesterday in response to the N&O’s story. They made it obvious that The Department of Health and Human Services’ public relations attempt to respond to the incident with the story by Michael Biesecker of the N&O was not successful.
