County looks for special needs in crisis – Waynesville Mountaineer

In addition to the special needs registry, authorities are simultaneously kicking off a second program that will further assist emergency personnel when responding to different types of special needs, including mental disabilities.

County authorities are implementing two new programs aimed at helping law enforcement officers and emergency responders to be more efficient about meeting the special needs of citizens during times of crisis and natural disasters. But they need to know who to include.
