Consider day treatment centers: State hospital admissions high [The Wilson Daily Times, N.C.] | Inside Scoop

Jan. 20–Too many people with mental illnesses end up in state hospitals, according to Steven Peters, director of psychology at Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro.

Peters was the guest speaker at the Wilson Mental Health Association’s annual awards dinner Tuesday night.

“North Carolina is the tenth largest state in population and is fourth in admission to mental hospitals,” Peters said.
