New regulations cut millions of dollars from Level 3 and 4 group homes, tightened placement criteria and shortened the length of time a teen could spend in such a facility.
In August 2009, 150 children were in Level 3 treatment in Gaston County.
Now, 50 Gaston teens are in Level 3 group homes.
Five group homes in Gaston County have closed since August.
