At risk: health programs for poor : News-Record.com : Greensboro

GREENSBORO — The two largest local health care providers are threatening to end a 14-year effort that serves about 53,000 poor  residents because Guilford County wants to cut its contribution.

The Moses Cone and High Point Regional health systems have worked with the county to serve poor adults and children  since 1996 . Together, the Guilford Adult Health and Guilford Child Health provide low-cost medical care for families living in poverty. That includes medical, dental, pharmacy and mental health visits.
