ASHEVILLE — Ron Burton learned firsthand how dangerous living on the streets could be.
“It’s my own fault that I’m in the situation I’m in,” Burton said. “I don’t blame it on anybody. I made a lot of bad choices.”
The 26-year-old Ohio man lost his left leg when he fell as he tried hopping onto a freight train 11 years ago after getting convicted of felony grand theft auto. That hasn’t stopped him from riding the rails through 26 states for the past 10 years. Story continues here ➤
