RAISING TAXES: – House and Senate negotiators are getting closer to Gov. Beverly Perdue’s request to raise more taxes. Democratic leaders said Thursday they’re assembling a final budget that would increase revenues by $900 million for the year starting July 1 and $1.3 billion the following year. That’s closer to the $1 billion to $1.5 billion extra that Perdue asked them to raise.
