Students Volunteer Time, Efforts To Homeless- Newton Observer News Enterprise

A person’s life can change any day.

That is a lesson some Newton-Conover Health Science High School students are learning as they volunteer time, clothing and money for local homeless people.

“This could be me any day,” said senior, Tessa Chavka. “I would want someone to help me if I was in a (bad) situation.”’

Seniors Melody Young, Renee Lewis and Chavka all their 150-community service hours required by NCHSHS, but Interim Counselor Beth Bock said the students chose to give more time to The Corner Table in Newton and other nonprofit organizations. Story continues here ➤
