Pamela Shipman, deputy area director of PBH (formerly known as Piedmont Behavioral Health), spoke to a group of Davidson County residents about the state budget cuts and resulting service reduction during a town hall meeting Wednesday night.

PBH, which provides mental and behavioral care to people without insurance in Davidson, Rowan, Cabarrus, Union and Stanly counties, receives much of its funding from state and federal governments. Due to a $4.6 billion shortfall in the state budget this fiscal year, the General Assembly cut millions of dollars from departments and agencies. Story continues here ➤
