David Thompson, a star in the NBA and ABA during the late 1970s and early 1980s, talked to Reidsville Middle School students on Thursday about making good choices and working toward goals.
Thompson, from Shelby, N.C., had a NBA career which was cut short by drug and alcohol use. He has been speaking to children for 20 years about mistakes he’s made, and what they can do to avoid peer pressure and be successful. Story continues here ➤
