North Carolina’s mental health system didn’t break in a day – it took years of neglect, under-funding and mismanagement at all levels to become so badly dysfunctional. Likewise, it will take time to fix the mess created following the so-called “reform” that took place earlier in the decade. But a money shortage has made the painful overhaul of the system even more difficult to bear, especially for families of clients who badly need services that have been cut. Story continues here ➤
