A lack of funding has led to the closing of a local treatment center aimed at recovering addicts ages 21 to 70. The Bridge at Brookstown opened in December at 235 S. Cherry St. in Winston-Salem. Organizers said they were going to spend nearly $7 million on transforming the former Best Western – Salem Inn into the substance-abuse recovery center.
