RALEIGH — The state board that licenses psychologists is considering disciplinary action against a former prison therapist who shot her patient in a lover’s quarrel. An investigation by the board found there is probable cause to conclude that Kristel K. Rider violated at least nine legal and ethical standards governing the conduct of psychologists when she had a romantic relationship with Lamount K. Friend, a former inmate.
